Description: A sudden surge in emergency medical care became necessary during the second wave of COVID-19 surprising several Asian and African countries with acute demand for Hospital Medical Infrastructure and Medical Oxygen. Governments such as those in India have tweaked regulations and taxation to allow private and corporate companies to do their best to garner the best supply levels of Medical Oxygen for hospitals. There were logistical nightmares and hospital accidents reported during the period as well. This article examines how different stakeholders played their role in the best efforts of the country to keep its population breathing. Several instances of hoarding and unauthorized handling were observed during the pandemic times. Policymakers can use the findings from this study to make better arrangements to face the future.
