    Hello, first i would like to express my appreciation about your work. our company has planned to manufacture 4% chlorhexidine gel for cord care for the year 2014. so far i have read some literature concerning chlorhexidine.     Hello, first i would like to express my appreciation about your work. our company has planned to manufacture 4% chlorhexidine gel for cord care for the year 2014. so far i have read some literature concerning chlorhexidine. According to the information that i get, there are three forms of chlorhexidine digluconate which are used in the manufacturing of 4% chlorhexidine : 20%, 7%, 5%. Until recent times WHO's Essential medicine list recommends 20% CHX digluconate for manufacturing 4% solution. but recent studies showed that 7% CHX digluconate solution has a tendency to deliver 4% CHX. my first question is, which one of the available raw materials above currently preferable to produce 4% chlorhexidine gel? and the second one: on this literature you mentioned the manufacturing process is straight forward. one literature that i read tells 20% CHX dilgluconate, 50% benzalkonium chloride, guar gum, sodium hydroxide and purified water are required to manufacture the gel.Is there any other way to manufacture it? also could you inform me in deep about the manufacturing steps and the concentrations we use? Hopefully you can.
